Our Policy

Trimian, Inc. (Trimian,” “we,” “us,” “our”) facilitates social and professional networking and provides related services through mobile applications (our “Apps”). Information about our Apps can be found on our website at (collectively, our Apps and services, including any new features, and the Trimian website, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information, including personally identifiable data and other information, when users download and install our Apps, sign up to become registered users of the Services (“Users”), or when visitors access or use the Services. Users of and visitors to the Services are referred to as “you” and “your” throughout this Privacy Policy.

Please be sure to read this entire Privacy Policy before using the Services or submitting information to us. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into Trimianโ€™s Terms of Service.

By using the Services or voluntarily providing us with Personal Data (as defined below) about you or others, you consent to our use of such Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You represent and warrant that any Personal Data you provide is true, accurate, current and complete, and that you have the authorization to provide it to us. If you provide Personal Data through the Services, you acknowledge and agree that such Personal Data may be transferred from your current location to the offices and servers of Trimian and the authorized third parties referred to in this Privacy Policy located in the United States.

Information We Collect

When you interact with us through the Services, we may collect Personal Data and other information from you, as further described below:

Personal Data You Provide Through the Services:

“Personal Data” is any data that alone or in combination with other information may be used to identify, contact or locate you or another person, such as: name, address, email address or phone number. We collect Personal Data from you when you submit or otherwise provide it to us, such as when you download and install our Apps, register for or use the Services, contact us with inquiries or respond to one communications from us.

           Profile Data: When you register to use the Services, we collect Personal Data about you that you provide. This data may include a profile photo, your education and work history, your contact information and links to your social media accounts (“Profile Data”). User Profile Data will be visible to other Users, and certain Profile Data will be visible to others outside of the Services.

           Data from Mobile Device Address Book and Other Applications: The Services may also collect information (including Personal Data) about others that is stored in a User’s mobile device address book, mobile device contacts, calendar or other non-Trimian applications. Depending on a User’s mobile device operating system, the Services may request permission to access such information. For example, as a User you may use our address book or “contacts” importer (or other similar features) to upload your address book into the Services.

           Data from Invitations: If you are a User, please note that when you invite another User to connect with you on the Services or invite another person to join the Services and become a, that person may have access to your email address or, for SMS invitations, mobile number because it may be displayed in the invitation. After sending these invitations, we may also remind your invitees of your invitation on your behalf.

Data from Social Media Sites:

We may collect certain Personal Data about you from certain social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn (“Social Media Sites”). This information may include Personal Data that you have provided to that Social Media Site including profile photo, email address, work history, friends list and other information.

We may also allow Users to enable or log into the Services using their accounts on Social Media Sites. By directly integrating Social Media Sites with the Services, we make Users’ experiences with the Services richer and more relevant. To take advantage of this feature, we may ask you to log into your social media account w or grant us permission to access your information via that Social Media Site. The information that we receive from a Social Media Site is governed by the privacy policy of that site. We will use, store and disclose information we receive from Social Media Sites in accordance with this Privacy Policy. However, we do not control the data privacy practices of the social media sites. So please remember that the manner in which each Social Media Site uses, stores and discloses your information is governed by the policies of the particular Social Media Site, and Trimian shall have no liability or responsibility for the data privacy practices or other actions of any Social Media Site that may be enabled within or otherwise accessible through the Services.

Users may also be able to post information from the Services on to Social Media Sites. For example, you may post to Facebook that you connected with a former work colleague on the Services. When you post on a Social Media Site, that information will be visible to your friends, followers or subscribers on that site and will be governed by the privacy policy of that Social Media Site.

Other Data:

           Location Data: We may collect and use your location data (for example, by using the GPS on your mobile device) to provide certain functionality on the Services. We may also use your location data in an aggregate way, as described below in the “Aggregated Personal Data” section.

           IP Addresses; Device IDs: The requests you make to the Services may contain your IP address (the Internet address of your computer). We may use Users’ and visitors’ IP addresses for various purposes, including to analyze and report upon visits to and usage of the Services; to diagnose and prevent service or technology problems affecting the Services; and to monitor and prevent fraud and abuse. If you access the Services on a mobile device, we may also collect the device type and identification number and request access to settings information for similar purposes. By using the Services, you are consenting to the collection of IP addresses and device identifiers.

           Anonymous Data: When you interact with Trimian through the Services, we use various technologies to collect and store certain information that cannot, on its own, be used to identify you (“Anonymous Data”) such as the number of visitors to the site, browser information, and referring links. We may store Anonymous Data, or it may be retained in databases owned and maintained by our affiliates, agents or service providers.

           Data Collected Through Cookies: In operating the Services, we may use a technology called "cookies." A cookie is a piece of information that the computer that hosts the Services gives to your browser when you access the Services. Our cookies help provide additional functionality to the Services and help us analyze Services usage more accurately. For instance, the Services may set a cookie on your browser that allows you to access the Services without needing to remember and then enter a password more than once during a visit to the Services. In all cases in which we use cookies, we will not collect Personal Data except with your permission. On most web browsers, you will find a “help” section on the toolbar. Please refer to this section for information on how to be notified when you receive a new cookie and how to disable cookies. If you disable cookies, you will not be able to take advantage of some of the features of the Services.

           Google Analytics and Similar Services: We may allow third party service providers to use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about your browsing activities over time and across different websites following your use of the Services. For example, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help analyze how Users and visitors use the Services and provides us with information that allows us to enhance your experience when you use the Services.            Do Not Track Signals: We may, and we may allow third party service providers (in addition to Google, as described above) to, use cookies or other technologies to collect information about your browsing activities over time and across different websites following your use of the Services. The Services currently do not respond to “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) signals and operate as described in this Privacy Policy whether or not a DNT signal is received.

Our Use of Personal Data and Other Data

We use Personal Data for a variety of purposes, including to enhance your experience with the Services and inform you about features of the Services or other services that we believe will be of interest to you; to facilitate your communications with Users and others through the Services; to identify potential Users; and to improve the content and functionality of the Services.

We use the information we collect to enhance User experience with the Services by helping you to grow the number of Users with whom you are connected through the Services (your “Network”), including without limitation by providing you with information about your contacts that we think may be useful to you. We may also use the information we collect from the Services to show you other Users with whom you might share connections through your Network.

Use of Data to Facilitate Connections with Others

When you send certain communications through the Services, such as an invitation to connect on the Services, the recipient of the communication may see your name, email address, mobile number and certain Network information. Messages you send or that we send on your behalf with your permission may also provide the recipient with information about your Network or your Profile Data. Once you have connected with another User, regardless of who sent the invitation, your Profile Data will be shared with that User.

Use of Third-Party Personal Data

Trimian uses Personal Data about others that we collect through your use of the Services (“Third-Party Personal Data”) to provide the Services to you and your Network. Third-Party Personal Data for a particular person that we collect from a User will be made available to another User if we determine that the other User may know or share a social or professional network connection with that person.

Please note that it may be possible for a User in your Network to determine that you have connections to another User or a person whose Personal Data has been collected through your use of the Services. In addition, Personal Data that you provide to us may reveal or allow others to determine attributes that are not expressly stated on your profile.

Use of Data to Identify Potential Users

We may use information (including Personal Data) that we collect via Users’ Networks, mobile devices and through your use of the Services to identify individuals who may want to join the Services (“Potential Users”). If you are a User, Trimian may use your profile picture and certain public Profile Data, specifically, your school and work history, in email communications with Potential Users you may know or with whom you may share a social or professional network connection.

Email Communication

Trimian and our subsidiaries and affiliates may use Personal Data and Non-Identifiable Data collected through the Services to contact you in the future to tell you about services we believe will be of interest to you. Email marketing communication we send you will contain instructions permitting you to "opt-out" of receiving future email marketing communications.

Other Trimian Apps

We may combine data from the Services with data, including Personal Data, from other applications that we offer for download or otherwise make available.

Our Disclosure of Personal Data and Other Data

There are circumstances in which we may share your Personal Data and other data with certain third parties without further notice to you, as set forth below:

           Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, your information may be sold or transferred as part of such a transaction as permitted by law and/or contract.

           Agents, Consultants and Related Third Parties: Trimian retains vendors, service providers and consultants to perform certain business-related functions. Examples of such functions include mailing information, maintaining databases and processing payments.

           Recruiters: We may provide services to recruiters and others, which they will be able to use to search for, categorize and communicate with or offer business opportunities to potential candidates, in which case certain of your Personal Data or other data may be disclosed in order to present such opportunities to you.

           Legal Requirements: Trimian may disclose Personal Data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation, (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of Trimian, (iii) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of Users, visitors to the Services or the public, or (iv) protect against legal liability.


We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 13. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to submit any Personal Data through the Services. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children’s Internet usage and to help enforce our Privacy Policy by instructing their children under the age of 13 never to provide Personal Data on the Services. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Data to Trimian through the Services, please contact us, and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.

Links to Other Websites

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Services. The Services may contain links to other websites not operated or controlled by Trimian (the “Third Party Sites”). The policies and procedures we describe here do not apply to the Third Party Sites nor do we control the data privacy practices of those sites. The links from the Services do not imply that Trimian endorses or has reviewed the Third Party Sites. We suggest contacting those sites directly for information on their privacy policies.


We take reasonable steps to protect Personal Data provided to us via the Services from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot warrant the security of any information that you provide to us.

International Users

If you are accessing the Services from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use, please note that you are consenting to the transfer of your information to the United States and the processing of your information globally. By providing information to us, you consent to any transfer and processing of such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
